Pam Brisbane
Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (MHSW, AASW)
EMDR Practitioner
Bachelor of Social Work (HONS) (RMIT)
Pam Brisbane is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker who has worked across a wide
range of health and community settings in a career spanning 30yrs. Pam practices from a
humanistic and holistic perspective and has a strong background in social justice. She has
extensive experience working with individuals experiencing various mental health issues
including depression, anxiety, trauma and clinical mental health.
Pam believes when people experience trauma or ongoing life stressors it is not uncommon
for their lives to be impacted negatively. Exploring behaviours that may be unconsciously
driven and bringing these to a conscious state can often assists in learning to be less reactive
and more mindful of patterns of behaviour.
Pam’s passion over the years has been to assist people to explore their feelings and beliefs
about themselves and their relationships in order to regain a balance in their lives by
working towards feeling safe and confident about themselves.
Pam works from a holistic approach believing that no single approach is right for everyone.
She has completed training across multiple modalities including EMDR, Emotionally
Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Having trained as a Shiatsu therapist
Pam is particularly interested in the relationship between the mind and body.
Pam has a particular interest in working with people who have experienced clinical mental
illness and has an excellent understanding of the emotional and social issues that often
accompany those who are experiencing mental health issues. Pam is also particularly interested in working with adults, older adults, adult surviviors of childhood sexual abuse and people suffering from chronic health conditions.
